My name is Sander and I’m the state advocate for CALPIRG, a nonprofit working to promote adoption of electric school buses.

Our children deserve a safe ride to school. Unfortunately, most school buses still run on diesel, a toxic pollutant that harms kids’ health and is bad for the climate. Electric buses provide a clean, green alternative, and they often save school districts money in the long run.

So, this coming Monday, October 25th at 10 a.m., CALPIRG will be holding a virtual event to build support for electric buses, and I wanted to send Skyline High PTSA an invite!

On Monday we will be joined by Representative Tony Cárdenas, a champion for electric bus funding in the legislature and co-author of the Clean Commute for Kids Act;  the director of transportation for Twin Rivers Unified School District (which operates a fleet of forty electric buses); and Lion Electric Bus Company.

We will be discussing how school districts can reap the environmental and health benefits of electric school buses, as well as calling on Congress and the Biden administration to invest even more in clean, electric school buses. We’ll be answering questions, as well as providing resources and information to give you the tools as parents to advocate for electric buses in your district.

Can you join us on Monday at 10AM for this webinar?  You can register here to receive the zoom information.

Also, would you be able to spread the word to your members and others in your community? I’m attaching a sample Facebook post to promote the event below.

Thanks, and I hope you have a great rest of your week.

Best,

Sander Kushen
