SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL PTSA PRESENTS:

WFH: Well That’s Fun
FEBRUARY 23, 2021 – 7pm (PST) – 8pm

Work From Home. It’s been 11 months of the kids scrambling to find the right Zoom link for biology and Lisa’s husband’s desk is still in the hall right in front of the bathroom door. Lisa’s fed up with co-starring in the reality show Extreme Manspread: Home Office Edition… The Covid Years. Unless Marie Kondo knocks at the door soon (masked, of course!), Lisa’s going to have to take matters into her own hands.

Find out how at our Virtual Happy Hour event WFH: Well That’s Fun. Live chat! Drinking games! Pass the time as you await immunization! AND all proceeds benefit Skyline High School PTSA Helping Hand program.

COVID-19 Vaccination Presentation at Jan. 2021 PTSA Meeting

Hello Titans!

Couldn't attend the PTSA General Meeting on Tues. Jan. 19th? Well, we have an update from one of our very own Skyline Parents, nurse practitioner and professor of nursing Sharon Vogan, who provided us with a very informative and enlightening update on the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines here in Alameda county.

Please see the below link to her presentation for your referral.

Ride (Run or Walk) 4A Reason in April 2021

Working together over the past eleven years, Ride 4A Reason (R4R) has raised over $1 million dollars for public schools in Oakland and Alameda.  We are writing now to invite you to participate in R4R 2021, which will take place in April of 2021. Our goals are to have 500 participants and to raise $180,000 for eleven Oakland and one Alameda public school.  To make R4R 2021 as inclusive as possible, this year in addition to cyclists, we also are opening up the event to runners and walkers.

With the pandemic showing no signs of ending anytime soon, it’s not possible to safely come together as a group in Sacramento in April.  Nevertheless, recognizing the unprecedented impacts to students at the schools we support, it's more important than ever before that we still come together "virtually" to show our support for our schools, and to raise badly needed funds.

The R4R 2021 “virtual” event will be a self-defined, do-it-yourself, physical challenge.  Riders, runners, and walkers participate by defining the physical challenge they will complete within a three-week period April 1 – 24, 2021.  The challenge could be: a) cumulative (i.e., a defined number of miles within the three week period); b) climactic (completing a long distance within a single day); or c) both.  Also, as in past years, each participant will have a personal fundraising page that they can share to solicit pledges of support.  In February, we also plan to define a few suggested rides, runs, and walks that could be completed, and resources to help you to reach your physical and fundraising goals.
